At the Connecticut Renaissance Faire, we extend a warm welcome to our furry, feathery, and scaly friends! Join us for a day of medieval merriment and bring along your beloved pets. Here are some guidelines and important information to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:

Allowed Pets:
We happily welcome public-friendly and well-behaved pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, rats, and lizards.

Pets We Don’t Allow:
Please note that we cannot permit livestock, horses, donkeys, mules, or large animals.

If you have any doubts about whether your pet is allowed or if you have additional questions, please contact us at 860-478-5954 before heading to the Faire. We want to ensure that everyone, including our furry friends, has a fantastic and safe time at the Connecticut Renaissance Faire.

Rules & Regulations:

Mandatory Rules for Dogs:

  • Rabies Vaccination: Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. This can be presented as an email or letter from your vet, or appropriate and up-to-date rabies tags.
  • Dogs in Heat: Intact dogs in heat are not permitted.
  • Leash Rules: Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Leashes should be non-retractable and no longer than 6 feet.


Rules for All Pets:

  • Clean-Up: Guests are expected to clean up after their pets and prevent them from relieving themselves on tents or booths.
  • Behavior: Faire management reserves the right to remove unruly pets or pet owners without refund.
  • Lost Pets: Pets are not allowed to roam free and should always be kept on a leash.
  • Amenities: Many vendors provide water stations for pets. However, please bring food and drinks for your pets as pet food is not sold at the Faire.
  • First Aid: The Double Dog Rescue booth has a first aid kit available for minor pet injuries.
  • Admission Fees: There is a $5 admission fee for each pet. Service animals are admitted for free.
