CT RENAISSANCE FAIRE CELEBRATE DEAF AWARENESS DAY ON OCTOBER 7
New England’s Finger Dancers will interpret various shows, demonstrations for guests with hearing loss
REGIONAL – The Connecticut Renaissance Faire honors and brings awareness to the accomplishments and issues facing people with hearing loss during Deaf Awareness Day. On Saturday, October 7, New England’s Finger Dancers will travel throughout the Faire and interpret shows and demonstrations. Support our friends with hearing loss during Deaf Awareness Day at the Lebanon County Fairgrounds, 122 Mack Road, Lebanon, CT. As a guest, the Faire invites you to come as you are or as whom you wish to be. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
The Faire’s Deaf Awareness Day started in 2004 when a group of enthusiastic fans wanted to share the magic of Faire with their deaf and hard-of-hearing friends. Today, the special event is just one of many at Faire’s annual Connecticut Renaissance Faire. This year’s 19th annual performance features mysterious magicians, amusing minstrels, comedic tales, jousting knights, craft demonstrations, birds of prey, and a medieval marketplace, among other entertainment.
If you are an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter and want to volunteer to enhance the Faire experience for our guests with hearing loss, contact Brian Harvard at (860) 478-5954 or email@example.com.
